Ayutthaya - Part II

Sambungan dari Part I, before kami sampai ke Ayutthaya, kami memang dah plan nak sewa basikal, sebab banyak sangat baca blog yang sewa basikal untuk pusing Ayutthaya. Tapi entah macamana, tiba-tiba terfikir nak sewa scooter, sebab my cousin memang boleh bawak scooter, so kami pun okay lah..kita naik motor, lepas google semua...keluar saja train station terus lintas jalan, memang ada kedai yang bagi sewa scooter yang cute dengan helmet semua siap,  150 Bhat sampai 7pm..dah dapat map tokey kedai siap explain where to go etc, ..cuaca sangat panas, dah la hari tu pakai selipar sebab sakit kaki, punyala panas rasa terbakar...

Anyway, tempat2 yang nak melawat tu taklah jauh sangat, semua dekat2 area yang sama saja...temple pun sangat banyak, kami tak melawat semua sebab panas..

Di Ayutthaya ni ada juga floating market, kami sempat singgah ronda-ronda sekejap.

Tiket balik ke Bangkok tak boleh beli in advance, kami plan nak beli terus tiket balik immediately sampai ke Ayutthaya, tapi tak boleh..so just tengok timetable train pukul berapa..estimate time, lepas hantar balik scooter, terus ke train station beli ticket.

One of the reason why I wanted to go to Bangkok is to explore Ayutthaya. Being an ex tourism student, i've always wanted to go to the famous UNESCO Site, been to Angkor Wat at Siem Reap, next is Ayutthaya. So, we planned to go to Ayutthaya by train, tapi sampai di Hua Lamphong Station which is sangat old school, we decided to take 2nd class yang ada aircond and the price is more expensive, tapi mengingatkan cuaca yang sangat panas, tak sanggup rasanya 1.5 hours tanpa air con.  So off we go to Ayutthaya. 

Ticket first class cepat habis dan cuma boleh beli pada hari yang nak travel saja, so lebih baik datang awal ke train station, kami naik train pukul 12 tengahari sebab ticket pagi dah habis...dahhhh kena tunggu di train station yang tak ada aircon dan sangat panas. So, kami lintas jalan ke 7-11 beli air dan tunggu dalam tu until it is almost time for us to board the train.

Our trip to Ayutthaya banyak refer dari blog-blog, terima kasihla kepada yang share their experience, at least dapat some idea macamana nak plan our travel. Dalam train akan ada inspector yang akan check ticket dan train ni akan stop di few stations. Sampai di train station Ayutthaya, so impressed with the station sebab dia orang masih maintain the facade. Cantik, sesuai sangat sebagai salah satu pintu masuk pelancong.

Bangkok, here we go again....Part II

We went to MBK Mall twice if I'm not mistaken. First, just to look around (but i did some impulse purchase of phone adaptors , earphone and ipad covers), the second time to eat at Yana Restaurant (a famous muslim restaurant). MBK Mall basically is a very large mall, if you're a shopaholic, you'd find at least something to buy here.  I only took few photos at MBK Mall, below are some of the photos outside MBK Mall...

Pictures below are bazaars outside MBK Mall, and we got ourselves passport covers for 100Baht. I just loved how the put up the tents and all the lightings although it was during the day. The nearest BTS Station here is National Stadium. We used a lot of BTS rides and few MRTs, the transport system in Bangkok were excellent. We only used tuk-tuk to go to sports shops somewhere National Stadium (will write about this later).

Bangkok, here we go again....Part I

I've been longing to go to Bangkok since forever, the last time I was there was in 2005, that's 11 years ago..whenever I wanted to go, something would come up and I had to cancel the plan. This time, i've made up my mind, even if I have to go solo. So, I asked my cousin, who is also my travelling partner, since many years ago, if she'd want to join, and she said yes. Searched for flight tickets from different airlines to get the best price, and we decided on Malaysia Airlines. MAS has always been my first choice, and since the price difference antara AA dan MAS sangat kecil, we decided on MAS. Wanted to try Thai Airways, tapi quite expensive, we'd rather spend on other things. 

We booked three nights accomodation at  On8 Sukhumvit a boutique hotel located right smack at Nana BTS. Thanks to a friend who recommended this hotel. We loved it because of its location. Although the price is a bit expensive ( we could get cheaper hotels) but we decided on this hotel, because of its location. We booked through its website, a bit cheaper than a normal hotel booking site. Overall, we are pleased with the hotel.

The weather in Bangkok was insane, it's like going out from a freezer (hotel) and into the oven. It was even hotter in Bangkok than in Malaysia. Luckily our hotel was closed to the BTS, we would go out in the morning, came back to the hotel in the afternoon, refreshed ourselves and went out again. We did that the whole time we were there.
